Matters sling are easy to DIY and useful in moving your mattress. Just use a rope through the mattress handles, slip PVC pipe over the rope ends and tie it to create a grip. 

6) Glides

Glides are a better version of old rugs used for sliding furniture across the floor. They are plastic disks that can fit under furniture to help you glide your object effortlessly across the floor when pushed. 

7) How to Move Large Items without Tools

Don’t worry if you don’t have the above-mentioned tools to move your heavy furniture. Here are a few tips to lift and move your furniture:

a)    You should tilt furniture backward and one person should carry the top and the second person should carry the bottom. 
b)    Don’t bend from your waist rather use your legs and core to lift it. Make sure to lift it correctly and use your legs to push upright. 
c)    Wrap your furniture in blankets then secure it in a blanket using plastic. This prevents any damage to the fragile items.
d)    Empty your furniture to make it easier and lighter to transport.
e)    Start loading heavy furniture in truck and pack your boxes.

There are a few things to prepare the furniture and make the loading process smoother:

•    Empty shelves and drawers
•    Remove legs from couches, tables, and chairs
•    Disassemble furniture
•    Tape screw and components to the furniture 
•    Clear path in and out of the place
•    Remove doors if required
•    Cover banisters and floors in towels or cardboard to protect them against damage
•    Pack your mattress before your movers arrive

 

8) Piano and Pool Table Removal

These two pieces of furniture are delicate and require experience. Individual or Moving companies without any experience may damage it if improperly packed, loaded or secured. Pianos are heaviest, largest and internally fragile items that should be moved by professionals.
