If there are any little repairs that are needing to be done, take some time to gather what you need and try to fix it yourself. Not only will this give you something to help pass the time, but all of the small things that were needing to be done will finally be out of the way.
It is worth noting, however that home that professional home maintenance during lockdown will be allowed but will be limited and only take place following strict social distancing guidelines. For example, repairs can be carried out if necessary, but any damage caused by or in fixing the repair will need to be fixed by yourself, all surfaces that tradesperson touches must be sanitised, and social distancing measures should be observed at all times.
Tend to Your Garden
If you are lucky enough to have a garden, then chances are you will have been getting a lot of use out of it these past few months as it is one of the few places you can go outdoors with no social distancing guidelines. So, why not take the time now to show your garden some attention and tend to it while you have a lot of time to do so?
There are many ways that you can tend to your garden. For example, tend to your weeds first so that you can make flowerbeds look cleaner and have your grass ready for cutting. You can also cut your garden’s grass, and spend some time pruning your roses and other flower bushes.
If you have a greenhouse or spare space, why not consider trying your hand at growing your own produce? This will not only give you a hobby to pass some time, but it will also allow you to spend less time and money in supermarkets as well as being eco-friendlier and more sustainable.
Take on A New Hobby
What better time to take up a new hobby than during a time when you are a home for prolonged periods of time? Being stuck at home may be a dream for some people, but for others, it is a recipe for boredom. So, why not curb some of that boredom with a new, productive hobby?
For example, taking up art is s hobby that is low cost and that you can spend some time teaching yourself and practising at home. You can also have most of the basic materials you would need, such as a sketchbook and pencils, delivered to your home. Or, why not consider knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, gaming, or even learning a language as a new hobby?
There are many things that you can do at home to entertain yourself. While binging Netflix all day, every day is still very much an option, why not choose to use that time to teach yourself something more productive? Who knows, you may even find your next big thing hobby through it all.
