Reiki Crystals and How to Use Them
Reiki is all about healing and harnessing the vital energy that is innate in all of us and our surroundings. Not everyone is mindful of the existence of this energy, but those who do are likely to live a purposeful life.
Balanced vital energy means that it can flow through the body with ease. This also comes with a number of benefits, such as a strong immune system, as well as a more relaxing and stress-free way of life.
There are several ways to unlock the true potential of this potent energy, and one of them is through the use of crystals. Reiki crystals are used by Reiki practitioners as energy absorbers. These things rid the body of negative energy and restore balance to the energy centers.
Reiki Crystals and Chakras
The practice of Reiki originated in Japan, but it can also be used with the Chakra system, which came from India. Chakras are often called by practitioners as energy centers. They reside in the body and are connected with each other. There are hundreds of them, but only seven are considered as major chakras. They are as follows:
- Crown Chakra - found on top of the head
- Third Eye Chakra - located at the center of the forehead
- Throat Chakra - located in the neck area
- Heart Chakra - located at the center of the chest
- Solar Plexus Chakra - situated above the navel
- Sacral Chakra - situated below the navel
- Root Chakra - found at the bottom of the spine
The 7 main chakras have a specific color assigned to each of them. Likewise, crystals also have colors that are compatible with the chakras. For example, the heart chakra represents the green color. Reiki crystals that can represent it are Jade, Emerald, or Green Calcite.
Below are some of the crystals that can be used to represent the main chakras:
- Crown Chakra - Clear Quartz (white), or Amethyst (purple)
- Third Eye Chakra - Sodalite (indigo)
- Throat Chakra - Lapiz Lazuli (blue)
- Heart Chakra - Jade, Emerald, Green Calcite (green), or Rose Quartz, Malachite (pink)
- Solar Plexus Chakra - Citrine, Yellow Topaz, Yellow Calcite (yellow)
- Sacral Chakra - Orange Calcite (orange)
- Root Chakra - Obsidian, Onyx, Black Tourmaline (black), Red Calcite (red)
Using Reiki Crystals
Reiki crystals should not be treated as some kind of magical stones that restore order or bring destruction to anything that the bearer desires. Instead, they are tools that aid in healing.
Crystals start out as empty vessels. It is the bearer who gives them purpose. Begin by determining which chakra needs to be balanced. A specific crystal is then placed on that part of the body. For instance, if you experience headaches or migraines, place a Jade crystal on top of your forehead for a few minutes.
Reiki crystals can also be used in conjunction with meditation or other energy healing modalities. While meditating, for instance, you can hold a crystal and ask it for healing and protection. There are no fixed rules in the use of healing crystals. Others simply carry one with them in their pockets or in their bags.
Clearing and Charging Reiki Crystals
Since Reiki crystals absorb energy, they may become overloaded with all kinds of positive and negative energy over time. That is why they need to be reset on a regular basis. It is also recommended that newly purchased crystals be cleared before use. This way, they start with their natural state.
There are a few ways to clear crystals, but the simplest way is by soaking them underwater for at least a minute. Water is, after all, a universal solvent. The best source of water for clearing crystals is a lake, river, or ocean. Water from the faucet will do if the primary sources are not readily available. Other ways include leaving them under the sun and moon for half a day up to three days, soaking in water full of salt, or performing a specific ritual or technique.
Now, to charge the crystals, some instruments that produce sound vibrations can be used, such as singing bowls, chimes, or tuning forks. Once charged, they will be ready to accept or absorb the good intentions of the bearer.
