Use Keap’s Lead Score Feature to Communicate With Your Hottest Leads

Successful Marketing Campaigns

To run a successful marketing campaign you want to assess your prospects interests based on their engagement level. You want to know who the hottest leads are. It’s those leads who you want to email with your offers, let them know about your coupons, thank them for being part of your highly engaged list and have your sales reps prioritizing on their call lists.

How though do you know who are your most engaged people? You use the lead score feature of Keap. It’s a really great feature that provides great value and it’s one of the most underused features of Keap; it’s also something unique to Keap that most other CRM systems don’t offer.

What is lead scoring?

What is lead scoring? It gives points to your contacts and those who have the highest points are the most engaged contacts. To give a score, you create a set of rules that assigns points to contact records based on tags applied, web forms submitted, links clicked and emails opened. When a contact does an action, the score is updated in real time. You can also set up lead score to deduct points from a contact if they perform a certain action – such as unsubscribe from an email list.

For lead scoring, not all activities have to have the same points. Some activities can have lower points and some can have higher points. You have to determine which activities are more important and which are less important. Most likely tags that are related to product purchases will have a higher value than tags that are for free offers.

You will also want to give points expiry days. This way those who were engaged with you a year ago and haven’t done much in over a year - won’t have high lead scores forever. You can decide on when you want the points to expire. I recommend they expire within 3 to 6 months.

To set up lead scoring, go to the CRM section in your app and choose settings. Then go to the lead score section (make sure it is turned on first) and choose your criteria for how you want to score your contacts.

Now that you have lead score set up, here’s how to make use of it. A contact record will show you the lead score by flames. Those who have the highest number of flames (4 or 5) are the ones who are the most engaged and are the most interested in working with you. So when you open up a contact record you will see automatically who has the highest score.

You can do a search in the contact section based on lead score. For example those whose lead score equals a value, is higher than a value or lower than a value. With those people who you pull up you can have your sales team call them or send out an email to them about a new offer.

An additional way to work with lead score is with the campaign builder. You can set it up so that when a certain lead score is achieved an email would be sent out.

Hot Leads

With Keap you have a tool that easily retrieves data about every single person in your database. Make sure to use all the features that come with Keap such as Lead score - and you can have an intelligent conversation when speaking with all the contacts.

By using this important and great component of Keap you will ensure that you are communicating effectively with your most engaged contacts. You will filter out leads by activity, only work with leads that are HOT (they have lots of points) and you will be able to customize your messaging.
